On August 22, 2025, the technical review meeting for the mandatory national standard "Safety Requirements for Portable Metal Ladders" was successfully convened at the China Academy of Safety Science and Technology. This standard, organized by the National Technical Committee on Mechanical Safety Standardization and the National Technical Committee on Work Safety Standardization, and led in drafting by Guangdong Wright Housewares Co., Ltd., has passed expert review. As one of China's mandatory national standards for the ladder industry, the revision of GB 12142, "Safety Requirements for Portable Metal Ladders," holds significant importance in regulating industrial production and ensuring consumer safety.
Guangdong Wright Housewares Co., Ltd., serving as the lead drafting organization, was represented by its Technical Director and Senior Engineer, Mr. Yang Yi, who acted as the principal drafter and provided responses and explanations to professional inquiries raised by committee members during the review meeting.

The revision and improvement of the mandatory national standard "Safety Requirements for Portable Metal Ladders" will further enhance the safety performance of domestic ladder products and standardize the production and operation activities of the industry. The release and implementation of this standard will set a new safety benchmark for China's ladder industry and provide Chinese consumers with more secure and reliable product guarantees.

Since the project of this standard was initiated, the National Technical Committee for Work Safety Standardization and all relevant units have attached great importance to it. After several high-standard discussions, the final technical defense of the standard was successfully passed.
